Overall, the students were able to gain some understanding related to Canadian history in an interesting format, involving the use of flags, maps and symbols. The follow-up activity to consolidate their learning was prepared in such a way that students could each contribute to achieving the groups' goal. - Grade 5 teacher February 2017

Bill has done many Flag Presentations here at the Waterford Barrie Retirement Redience. The cliental at the Waterford are very educated seniors who want to learn and hear about historical events as well as the current news of the world. You can tell that Bill is very interested in history and he is also a very keen researcher. He has many topics and the first presentation here was for the "Summer Olympics." For example, Bill brought in a beautiful colourful display of flags from the very first Olympics right up to the United Kingdom in 2012 and Brazil in 2016. He hooked up his computer to our television in our Springwater Lounge and shared the most important events from 1896 in Athens. He showed the posters and some of the special Olympic sports at that time. Bill has shared many of his flag presentations at the Waterford since then and you will not only have him come once, but again and again.

Bill Anderson truly is an educator who engages his audience with topics relative to the demographic and generation profile. He demonstrates a thorough knowledge of each topic but also incorporates fun facts that are uncommon to most people. While sitting in the audience, | always hear whispered comments from residents like "I never knew that, did you?" and "Oh, I remember that time!"   He takes any topic and makes it come to life with photos and flags to bring you back in time as it you were truly present at that point in history. I continue to welcome Bill Anderson back because the residents are enthralled with the topics he presents and always look forward to the next time he visits. He is not only professional, organized and engaging , but is also a wonderfully personable individual who brings a unique learning experience to the retirement community. - Life Enrichment Coordinator  April 2019
